UNODC: No red line in drug fight in the Islamic Republic of Iran

He said very fruitful programs have been implemented in the domains of control of drugs, AIDS and organized crimes since the inauguration of the UNODC office in Iran in 1999.

Over the recent years, we have managed to embark on the very constructive and fruitful cooperation with the Iranian officials and met the International standards in our projects, he said.

Commenting on the methodologies to treat drug addicts, he said one of the very positive methods in drug treatment is the use of Methadone in curing addicts.
He went on to say that some 200 thousand people are participating in the Methadone treatment program in Iran .
UNODC representative in the Islamic Republic of Iran Antonio De Leo said there is no red line in the fight against the illicit drugs in Iran.
